Marsh Furniture Full-Time Employee Benefits
Marsh Furniture takes great pride in offering its full-time employees excellent benefits. Our total benefits program has been designed to provide both you and your family with protection and security which only a balanced and comprehensive plan of benefits can offer. This summary will help to answer your basic questions about your benefit program.
401(k) and Profit Sharing Retirement Plan - Employees with six months of service are eligible for this pre-tax benefit. The company matches 25 cents for each dollar you contribute on up to 4% of your compensation. Choose from nine funds. The Company also reserves the right to make additional contribution to your plan based on profits.
After Tax Savings Plan - Employees who are eligible for the 401(k) are eligible to participate in the After Tax Savings Plan. This allows eligible employees to purchase mutual funds with no sales charge.
Weekly Pay Period - Marsh pays eligible employees each week. If you have ever worked at a place that pays biweekly or monthly you will see that this is a benefit.
Paid Holidays - Full-time employees who have completed their 90 day orientation period are eligible for 8 hours regular time paid for each holiday including the Friday before Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th , Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. This equates to seven paid days.
Paid Vacations - Employees who have completed one year of continuous service with the company will receive two weeks paid vacation. Employees with ten years of continuous service to the company will receive three weeks paid vacation. Employees with less than one year of service should consult the vacation policy to determine their benefits.
Direct Deposit - You can have your payroll check deposited into your checking and/or savings accounts. It will normally be deposited into your account prior to your regular payday. See Personnel for the necessary forms.
Credit Union - Employees are eligible to join Members Credit Union. This benefit provides many financial services including savings, checking and Christmas club accounts. Low cost loans, ATM cards, and credit cards are also available. Employees can utilize direct deposit to save money or make loan payments. (Effective 3/96)
Medical insurance - After three months, employees and dependents will become eligible for Marsh's group medical insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Your medical insurance is a voluntary plan. This insurance helps to provide you with the financial protection to meet most of your medical expenses, with total coverage of $2 million. If you use a Primary Care Physician, General Internist, Pediatrician or Ob GYN, you pay a $25.00 Co-pay if they are listed in the network. There is a $300 deductible for other doctors and it pays 80% of the covered charges if you use a network provider for most services.
Dental insurance - There is also a limited dental benefit included in the health plan. Employees receive two cleanings per year. The plan pays 80% for fillings and extractions after you meet a $50.00 deductible. The plan is limited to $1,000.00 per year.
Flexible Spending - Employees are eligible to enroll in the Pre-Tax program to help offset expenses for Medical and Child Care. Payroll deducted and puts more money in your pocket.
Tax Savings - Employees who are eligible for medical insurance can sign up for Section 125 which will give you a tax savings each week. Premium amounts are not subject to taxes. This puts more money in your pocket.
Life Insurance - Eligible employees and dependents selecting medical coverage are also eligible for term life insurance. These employees will receive $20,000 of term life coverage for hourly employee. Eligible dependents will receive up to $2,000 of term life coverage.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD+D) - Employees having life insurance are also eligible for AD+D. This provides eligible employees with additional benefits when death or certain dismembering accidents occur.
Supplemental Life Insurance - Employees with one year or more of continuous service are eligible to purchase additional life insurance for themselves or their dependents. The rates are very low and are withheld through payroll deduction.
Short Term Disability - Employees who have been employed more than 90 days are eligible for short-term disability. This coverage helps employees who have to miss work because of an accident or illness. It begins paying after eight days of disability and continues to pay them for up to 25 weeks at a maximum of $150 per week. (Effective 12/1/99)
AFLAC Insurance - Employees who have been employed more than 90 days are eligible for supplemental insurance for to help offset lost wages while out on disability. Participation is voluntary and is offered on a pretax basis. Benefits are paid directly to the employees. AFLAC also offers an Accident Policy for you and your family. (Effective 4/1/03)
Long Term Disability - Employees who have been employed more man 90 days are eligible for Long Term Disability. This coverage pays individuals who qualify 60% of their gross wages (tax free) for as long as they remain disabled through age 65. There is a 6-month elimination period. (Effective 8/1/97)
Social Security Benefits - Marsh matches all social security payments made by you during the year. This represents 7.65% of your annual salary.
Unemployment Insurance - All employees receive unemployment insurance protection through their State Employment Security Commission. Benefits for this are paid 100% by Marsh Furniture.
Worker's Compensation - Worker's compensation covers medical bills and lost wages for workers that are hurt injured on the job. Marsh Furniture pays the cost of this coverage.
Employee Assistance Program - All employees are eligible for EAP. This benefit offers assistance to employees for martial or family problems, financial problems, drug or alcohol problems, stress related problems, or other psychological problems, which may trouble employees.
Breaks - Employees are eligible to receive a break for ten minutes in accordance with the company policy. Did you know that this is equivalent to a two week paid vacation for a full time employee working the entire year?
Open Door Policy - All employees are encouraged to meet and confer with management to present suggestions, ask questions or make statements on any issue related to wages, hours or working conditions.
Free Beverages - Free coffee, tea and ice are available to all Marsh employees in our break areas during working hours. This equates to more than one weeks pay for employees drinking three drinks per day.
Bereavement Pay - Employees who have worked ninety days are eligible for bereavement pay. Eligible employees will receive up to three days of pay for time missed from work in the event of the death of an immediate family member as defined in your handbook.
Employee Purchases - Employees are eligible to purchase Marsh products for their own personal use at reduced rates. Employees are eligible to make one purchase a year for their immediate family members priced at wholesale.
Service and Attendance Awards - Marsh recognizes eligible employees for perfect attendance through awards that may include public recognition, cash awards, or additional time off from work. Marsh recognizes continuous employment in increments of five years by presentation of a plaque prior to our annual Christmas shutdown.
Educational Assistance - Full-time employees with at least six months of continuous employment may qualify for partial tuition reimbursement for courses taken that are related directly to their employment.
Leave of Absence - Jury Duty Leave. Family and Medical Leave, Military Leave and Parental Leave for School Involvement are all available to eligible employees.
