To further accentuate the natural beauty of these woods, glazing accents are offered on cherry and maple species.

As one of nature's most beautiful renewable resources, wood has certain characteristics that occur naturally as well as over time in a normal household environment. In the wood selected for our cabinets these natural features possess intrinsic degrees of varying grain character, small mineral streaks, and slight color variations. These inherent characteristics are considered acceptable and desirable attributes in quality wood cabinetry.

As with carpets, draperies and upholstery in the home, all species of wood exhibit color changes when exposed to different light sources and other environmental factors over time. Unfiltered sunlight is one of the most damaging factors to the surfaces of the cabinets. To help combat this, Marsh's finishing process is engineered to provide protection to the greatest degree possible, howev-er, certain changes will occur naturally. Please note that our finish and other construction aspects of our cabinets meet all of the stringent specifications of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association, which is considered the seal of approval of the cabinet industry.

At Marsh, your satisfaction with our products is of utmost importance. It is for that reason we take this time to explain the specific natural characteristics mentioned above and how they might appear in your cabinetry. Below, you will find a brief description of each of the species offered by Marsh Furniture. Maple is a hard and dense wood with a close grain that is relatively subtle in appearance. The grain pattern may vary from a tight vertical pattern to a wild arch-shape. The color range runs from white to yellow and brown. Marsh is very selective in this color range, ensuring the brown portion to have a faint brown tint. Inherently, there are fine honey-colored mineral and sugar streaks Maple will react to both natural and artificial light sources, taking on a somewhat subdued patina. When a light finish is applied, these variations are visible and should not be considered defects.

Cherry is a moderately hard wood, heavy and strong. It is generally a straight grained, uniformly textured wood characterized by its red undertones. Given that, it may range in color from a light to dark reddish brown heartwood with tones from greenish to white sapwood. There is also a natural occurrence of small knots, pitch pockets or wormholes in the surface of the wood. Cherry is well known for its response to artificial and natural light sources, developing a rich and lustrous patina in the colors noted above. These variations are often quite visible with natural or light finishes while appearing less on darker stains, shielding the wood from various light sources.

Thermo Foil finishes allow white cabinet doors to exhibit the same styling and detail found in solid wood doors. White Thermo Foil finishes are extremely durable, easy to clean, and especially resistant to chipping and cracking. The core is medium density fiberboard (MDF) with a white melamine back.

Melamine is a durable finish that is chemical and moisture resistant.
